improvement
I had a lot of growth from my first speech to my last. I hardly used any fillers such as um and uh. I had better contact,i feel like i looked at everyone in the room multiple times. My voice was loud and clear but shakey at times. i didnt touch my hair at all which was a distraction in my first speech. I was more enthusiatic with my last speech as well. My conclusion was more than "That's it".

Necrotizing Faciitis
My second speech was an informative speech about a flesh eating bacteria that causes necrotizing faciitis. I chose this topic because it interested me when i heard about it in AP biology. WHen delivering my speech i seemed uneducated in the topic, unenthused and as if i did not care about the topic. I read a lot off of the note cards i had and it appeared that i had not done research.

Brown bag speech
I felt that my speech was not as bad as I thought it would be. I stayed somewhat calm and I did not get too nervous. Some things i need too improve on is saying "um",playing with my hair, better eye contact and speaking louder. In the beginning of my speech i said "um" multiple times which is a big "no no" when giving a speech. I was constantly playing with my hair during the entire speech which was probably distracting for the audience. My speech needed to be more natural, like I was talking to a friend. I just need to relax a little more.

Anecdote,farce,parody,satire
An anecdote is basically a story. Jeff Dunham is a great example of someone who uses an anecdote. He is a stand up comic and in his intro he tells a story of a humorous experience in his life.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-k3i71WI6UA farce is a light dramatic piece where improvable situations happen. The movie Blades of Glory is an example of a farce. Many of the scenes are improved while the movie has somewhat of a dramatic story line involving romance, betrayal, and friendship. The scenes with ice skating are where most of the improv comes into play.

A parody is an imitation of an original piece of work. There are many parodies out in the entertainment business. Saturday Night Live is a show that has perfected parodies. My favorite parody is Tina Fey imitating Sarah Palin.

All about me
Hey everyone! I'm Madison Farr and I am a senior at Anderson High School. Next year I will be attending the University of Cincinnati, majoring in nursing with a possible minor in Spanish. I played volleyball and track at Anderson and was also involved in some clubs. I am taking two college level classes one biology course and an art class. I am very passionate about art and photography and hope to do something with them in the future as well as nursing. In the summer I work at Riverbend Music Center and in the winter I coach my younger sister's volleyball team.
I don't have much spare time due to my busy school and sports schedule but when I have free time I'm usually with family and friends; they are the most important things to me. I also volunteer at an animal shelter because I am a big animal lover.
One day I hope to travel the world and make a difference in people's lives.
Thanks for reading!
